Researcher in resistance to antibiotics
Patricia Lozano Zarain is researcher in the Laboratory of Infection Diseases for Hospitals and the Community, Research Centre in Microbiological Sciences, Sciences Institute from the Benemerita Autonomous University of Puebla, Mexico. Dr. Lozano Zarain has a PhD in Molecular Biomedicine from the National Polytechnics Institute (IPN), Mexico. She has experience in the study of relation of host-parasite in systemic infection (sepsis), and the research of the new diagnostic methods of sepsis. At the present time she is working in molecular and structural mechanisms of resistance to antibiotics in isolated Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Acinetobacter; causing nosocomial infection, in collaboration with PhD Carmen Torres of the University of La Rioja, Spain.
Dr. Lozano Zarain is also currently involved in a project, collaborating with Dr. Rosa del Carmen Rocha Gracia from the Benemerita Autonomous University of Puebla, Mexico, and with Dr. Arturo Sandoval Reyes from the University of Oxford, UK, called: “Integral Study of Dengue: an Epidemiological, Biomolecular, Public Health and immune Approach”; her role on the project consists in tutoring the post graduate students who are developing the project: “Recognition of conserved protein sequences of Dengue virus, candidate immunogens".

Speaker at session 10, November 24th. Molecular and structural mechanisms of resistance to antibiotics in Pseudomonas aeruginosa causing nososomial infection.
